We first got a call from John & Renate about 2 years prior to the sale of the house. Yes….sometimes we stay in touch and stop by and send notes to say we are still here and ready when you need us. They called us originally to talk about what they would need to do to get their house ready for sale but told us they weren’t ready right away. We gave them tips and added that an estate sale would be a great way to get rid of stuff they were not going to need, as they were supposed to be moving overseas to live with their son. Ultimately, they did not end up doing an estate sale as after living in the same home for 60+ years, it was just too hard to say goodbye to all their beautiful belongings in that way. We worked endlessly with them while they pared down and made excruciating decisions on what to keep and what to let go. It took months. Their son also helped move his 90+ year old parents into an assisted living home close by. This was a very hard transition but ultimately, seemed to be the best one since their son did not live in the area or even the country.

When they finally decided to sell their house, they seemed to want it done right away. So, we got to work and made the most of the situation. The house was pulled apart and all the stuff was everywhere. Kelly & Laura wanted it to show the best it could so they could get a better sales price on the home. So we moved all the unnecessary stuff into the garage one afternoon. We cleaned the bathrooms, surfaces, windows and swept the floors and front patio so it would all look as best as possible. Called the photographer and captured some great images on a clear day to show off the view!

Got all the marketing in place and went live on the MLS that same week. Open houses and lots of showings and voila, we had multiple offers after our strategic pricing plan was in place! The sellers were so happy and found someone else to take care of formally removing all they did not want or could not keep. That was an agonizing process with many trips to the storage unit for them.
