Sunsets make living in the Hollywood Riviera something to cherish!

Living in the Hollywood Riviera – is something to cherish.  We are very fortunate to have found this wonderful neighborhood.  This lesser known spot in the South Bay may not be that freeway-accessible, but once you get here it sure is worth staying!

Windy streets lead you around the area from the Lower Riviera ascending to the Upper Riviera laced with many different types of homes.  You could live in a smaller 1950’s ranch style home with 3 bedrooms, 1 3/4 baths in 1600 square feet, or in a newer Mediterranean style home that may offer up to 3000 sq ft or a remodeled home somewhere in the middle.

Either way, the community offers so much more than its fabulous sunsets.  Its convenient location, close to Torrance Beach and the Riviera Village, make every day trips to the grocery store a pleasure rather than a chore.  Torrance Beach is the southern end of 21 miles of bike path along the Pacific Ocean heading north all the way to Pacific Palisades area, just a bit north of Santa Monica.  That is a fun trip to make.  Or you could walk the trail between Palos Verdes and the Riviera – it’s about 4 miles of wood-chips that lots of folks like to walk their dogs on or just stroll along under the fragrant eucalyptus branches.   Rocketship Park is an icon in the Hollywood Riviera, with its famous rocketship-inspired jungle gym that overlooks the entire South Bay, Los Angeles basin, LA Harbor and the Pacific Ocean looking across to Malibu.

Homes range in price from the $700’s up to over $3 million range.  (Sometimes more for the homes on the bluff overlooking Torrance/RAT Beach.)  Some of the Hollywood Riviera homes have Redondo Beach addresses.  This can be confusing, since all the homes are located in the City of Torrance.  Back in the day when the Hollywood Riviera neighborhood was first developed, the Torrance post office was so far away, they asked the Redondo Beach post office to deliver the mail and it’s stuck ever since.

Today there are only 11 single family homes currently for sale, three townhouses and one condo.  Those prices range from $650,000 for the townhouse up to $1,849,000 for the most expensive single family home currently for sale.  Click here to see that list.
